Introduction

The 2008 Folsom Street Fair^tm Poster Competition was begun several years ago to encourge graphic artist to share their vision of what the Folsom Street Fair means to them through the creation of a fair poster.

New For 2008

• We've relaxed the requirement for hardcopy to finalists only. We're happy to accept an optional hardcopy when you submit your work, and if your work is selected as a finalist we will require you to produce a hardcopy. We are hoping that this lowers the cost of entry to the contest.
• We've refocused the target year to the current year rather than next year. We are no longer asking entrants to produce a poster for next year's fair but rather produce an alternate poster for the current year.

Prizes

Up to ten finalists will vie for prizes of $400.00, $200.00 and $100.00 for first, second and third place. In addition a "Peoples' Choice" award of $100.00 will be given to the finalist receiving the most votes cast by viewers on this web site and at the 2008 Folsom Street Fair^tm. Prize money may optionally be donated to the charity of the winner's choice in their name. Finalists' artwork will be viewable by hundreds of thousands of people either through this web site or via a public gallery which will be setup at the 2008 Folsom Street Fair^tm.

• April 1, 2008 - Competition begins, registration opens
• September 5, 2008 - Deadline for receiving all artwork from registered entrants
• September 18, 2008 - Finalists selected
• September 28, 2008 - Finalists gallery at the Folsom Street Fair
• October 31, 2008 - Winners announced
• November 19, 2008 - Prizes awarded
