DJ Guy Ruben grew up making mix tapes in his bedroom. Beginning at the impressionable age of eight years old, he threw off the shackles of his Fisher Price record collection and began searching for the hottest 12-inch records, making mix tapes, editing songs, and even recording songs directly off the radio. By his 20's, his knowledge of music had increased exponentially – not to mention his collection. Everywhere he turned, he heard, felt and tasted music. Then, after years of careful, studious ass-shaking, he heard the calling of the DJ.
Specializing in the most current electro pop and house music, Guy Ruben’s tastes cross all boundaries. He’s been known to pepper his sets with 80's and 90's dance music, indie dance rock, Italo-disco and funk. He brings fist-pumping good times to dance-aholics everywhere, constantly reading the crowds and giving them something fresh and edgy to move to. He exudes the inspiration that’s moved him since he was a just a tiny tot, dancing on the living room rug.
His resume includes DJ sets at 440 Castro, The Lookout, The End Up, Club 8, Deco Lounge for Bearracuda, Trigger, Lime, Chaps Bar, Truck, and even Diesel and Sui Generis. |
